An update on The Flash

This is just a quick update on WB/DC Entertainment’s The Flash.

Anticipation for The Flash seems to have been overshadowed by the hype of Thor, Captain America, Green Lantern, and Batman 3. A big announcement was expected at Comic-Con, but the studio balked.

Well, Collider got a chance to interviewed Greg Berlanti about the status of the film. Berlanti states that he’s still involved as a producer on The Flash, and is working with Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, who also wrote Green Lantern, on the script. Berlanti isn’t sure when the film will happen as the writers have just begun writing the script. “We’re just getting into the script. We’re just starting the script, so that’s about where we’re at,” he said. It’s said the film will take inspiration from Geoff Johns’, CCO of DC Entertainment Inc., most recent work on the character, and feature the Barry Allen version of The Flash.

With development on Batman 3 and The Man of Steel underway, The Flash is the next piece in the puzzle for a live-action Justice League film. Development on a feature adaptation on the character has been struggling for years to get moving, but it’s good to hear that we’re finally getting a film.
