Alvin and The Chipmunks 3D production moved to January
While filming on Alvin and The Chipmunks 3Â was originally planned this month, delays have caused the film seek a new start date. Set backs first occurred in mid-October when Betty Thomas bailed on the film (here), and Twentieth Century Fox was forced to seek a new director only weeks before filming. However, Mike Mitchell is currently in negotiations to direct (here), and a new start date has been revealed.
Speaking with Cinema Blend, actor Jason Lee revealed that he will be returning in the film, and that production will kick-off next January. “I will be filming Alvin 3 this January, to the delight of my two children. They’re just beside themselves with enthusiasm,” he said. The other thing that’s change is the film will now be shot in 3D, but that shouldn’t be to any-one’s surprise. No word if the release date has been changed, but it’s possible it can still be met on time.
