“Alien” Prequel Confirmed!

Yes! Tony Scott confirmed the rumors that there will be a prequel added to Ridley Scott‘s Alien movies and it will be directed by Carl Rinsch, a relatively unknown commercial director.

“Yes, Carl Rinsch is going to do the prequel to ‘Alien.’ He’s one of our directors at our company.”

If they are going to add to the Alien franchise, thankfully they are doing a prequel and not another sequel. No word yet on whether Sigourney Weaver is set to star, but Scott did mention that he hoped to begin filming before the end of the year.

As a huge fan of the Alien movies, I am really excited about the prequel but unsure at the same time. What do you think? Are they going to screw it up? Prequel or sequel? And why an unknown commercial director for a project this big?
