Aaron Eckhart will battle aliens in Los Angeles

The star of one of the years hottest releases of the year The Dark Knight’s Aaron Eckhart is set to do battle against alien forces in the upcoming Battle:Los Angeles.

Let’s all hope this is another stellar film in his already great track record and not another hiccup like The Core.

Eckhart will play Seargent Nantz the leader of an army group who is caught in the middle of battle in the streets of L.A. during an alien invasion. The film is being tapped as a cross between Independance Day and Black Hawk Dawn.  Sounds impressive for a big sci-fi film that aspires to be more than your typical effects laden fare.

Battle will have director Jonathon Liebsman (Darkness Falls) to helm the feature under Chris Bertolini’s script.
