A quick update on The Man of Steel

One of the many great aspects about Nolan’s Batman films was that he was able to portray the character in a real world. While Nolan is about to begin work on the highly anticipated Batman 3, he’s also producing WB/DC Entertainment’s Superman reboot, The Man of Steel. He may have a difficult time with that on a character that has superpowers. At a press junket for Inception, Christopher Nolan spoke to Mtv News about approaching the film.

Nolan states that when doing Superman or Batman, “it’s all about story first.”The meaning of the story and how to approach it is what should be considered first.  Richard Donnors 1978 Superman, was one film that Nolan was impacted by and aspire to. The director also assures us that he isn’t even considering casting yet, and any news we here are just rumors.

There hasn’t been much revealed about the story, but David Goyer is writing it with Jon Nolan, and will possibly feature Lex Luthor and Brainiac. Back in March, Nolan stated that they came up with a fantastic story. Also, that a possible crossover with Batman and Superman is out of the question as Nolan wants the two characters to exist in their own world. That will be difficult to stick with if DC Entertainment wants to get a live-action  Justice League off the ground.

The Man of Steel is scheduled to open in December of 2012.
