A new front runner for Fincher’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake?

Many have considered Care Mulligan(An Education) for the role of Lisabeth Salander in Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake. Word today comes that Fincher is looking at an unknown for the role, much like how the Swiss cast Noomi Rapace, who was an unknown too, as Lisabeth. Fincher seems keen on singer/ rapper / performance artist Yo-Landi Vi$$er, from the South African group Die Antwoord for the role.

While Vi$$er certainly has that odd look for Lisabeth, the question becomes, can she act? Steve Zaillian is writing the script from the Stieg Larsson novel for a December 2012 release.
