’78 Body Snatchers and Return of the Living Dead head to Blu-ray

When it comes to great films, Philip Kaufman’s retelling of Invasion of the Body Snatchers always seems to get lost in the shuffle. It’s not only one of the best remakes ever, but it is one of the finest achievements in paranoia you will ever see. Joining it on Blu-ray on September 14 is Dan O’Bannon’s zombie masterpiece Return of the Living Dead. I have only one thing to say. Do you wanna party?

Specs and details have yet to be revealed, but each release appears to be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with a suggested list price of $24.99.

The timing couldn’t be better for Return of the Living Dead, considering that this year it celebrates its 25th Anniversary. I think the time has come to do a ‘Late Night Classic’ retrospective on this gut-buster than gets better with age.
