3D Hamlet? High School musical version of Macbeth?!

Submitted by Daniel Herrera on August 14, 2009 – 2:53 pmNo Comment

So it appears there are no bounds that the studios will go in order to get the ever elusive dollar, since today, we learn that in order to (and I use this word lightly) “teach” the younger demographic about Shakespeare, Mark Thomas of Elsinore Films will be tackling six of the great authors stories, and working them to target the High School Musical / Harry Potter audience.

Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night and The Tempest round out the titles looking to get the High School musical treatment.  Whether or not Elsinore Films take in profit, they have already are  shooting the 6 films back-to-back, to commence with the first film being the 3D adaptation of Hamlet.  The producers go as far as saying, that the ghost of Hamlet’s father, the sword fights, and cannon firings, are the device that can be given the 3D treatment.
