3D continues to spread like the plague

Submitted by Melissa Molina on February 3, 2010 – 12:07 pm2 Comments

One of the biggest trends for the theaters at the start of this decade is the re-emergence of watching films in 3D, which continues to spread out into all sorts of random movies. A fine example of the strange and a little out of control trend comes in the form of several films that have been announced to be shown off in 3D. Among those are Zack Snyder’s directed animated feature Guardians of Ga’Hoole, Clash of the Titans (which will be showcased in 2D as well), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt I & II and Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore says Coming Soon.

Adding possibly even more onto the list is the Variety scoop that Michael Bay’s explosion action figure fest in Transformers 3 might be getting the third dimensional treatment too. The only real problem with that is the set release date that Paramount Pictures appears to not want to budge away from. It’s hard to keep track of which Transformer is on the screen as it is, the last thing we want is a migraine five minutes in trying to watch it in 3D.

What do you think of this 3D trend? Love it or hate it, let us know.

Aw, post-Avatar cinema, everything in 3-D.

No matter what I say about Megan Fox’s personality and acting, you can’t deny that seeing her in 3-D would be great. And, if Transformers 3 is to be converted, then you should expect A LOT of close-ups of her.
