You guessed it…a Poltergeist remake in the works
Hollywood has been wanting to re-enter the world of the paranormal recently with Paranormal Activity and Insidious, and it seems that MGM wants to get in on this trend as well, with a remake of Steven Spielberg’s classic Poltergeist.
The remake has been planned since the studio got out of bankruptcy, and Vutlure has learned that David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole) has been approached to pen the script. Abaire wouldn’t revealed the news, but stressed he wasn’t sure if he would take the job or not. Of course, fans hate the very thought of a remake, but insiders are telling Vulture that Abaire would have complete control of the creative process.
