Yet another rumored villain for Superman
While it’s been assumed that General Zod would be taking on the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, rumor is now saying that another villain could be featured. Movienewz  received some possible plot details from an anonymous source that claims Metalo will be the film’s villain. According to their source, General Lane (Lois Lane’s father) “uses kryptonite to power an experimental cyborg super solider named Metallo. He’s ultimately exploited as a weapon against Superman”.
As many fans know, kryptonite is fragments of Superman’s home planet, Krypton, which drains the Man of Steel of his power. The description of Metalo seems to bare resemblance to his biography used in the storyline “Secret Origin”, which this film is reportedly based on (here). Metalo would seem like an odd choice to be the villain. However, given that fans are wanting something new out of this reboot, this may be a good idea. Having said that, it’s still only a rumor for right now, and should be taken with a grain of salt. But we should know who the villain is, along with the actor portraying the character at Comic-con this July.
