Yep, The Man of Steel to cover Superman’s origin

If there’s one thing many are tired of seeing in the superhero genre, then it’s the character’s origins. And as many may have guess already, Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is now officially going to be covering Superman’s origin. “I read the script under lock and key… I was locked in a room with the script and was only allowed three hours with it. I nailed it into my memory. I’m really excited. I’m really not allowed to talk much about it, I think, but it does cover the entire range of years, from infancy on,” Diane Lane (Martha Kent) told E! Online.

Showing a superhero’s origin isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and Nolan did a masterful job at showing how Bruce Wayne became Batman in Batman Begins. However, Richard Donner already did an amazing and accurate way of showing Superman’s origin, and there’s really nothing much you can add to that. Then again, Batman Begins did a great job at providing an identity crisis for Bruce Wayne, and that same team (David Goyer and Christopher Nolan) have provided the basic story outline for Snyder’s reboot. And word is the film will be based upon the Secret Origin storyline (here), which was a well-received telling of Superman’s origins. Perhaps a retelling may not be such  a bad thing after all.
