Will Arnold Schwarzenegger return to acting?
With his role as California’s governor now over, many are wondering if Arnold Schwarzenegger would choose to resume his acting career. Director Ivan Reitman (Kindergarten Cop, Twins) doesn’t think so, at least not full-time acting. In fact, Reitman believes that Schwarzenegger will continue government work after have a talk with him. “I had a lovely talk with him about a month ago, and my guess is he will continue in government work,” Reitman told Entertainment Weekly.
During his time as governor, Schwarzenegger was able to make cameo appearances in films such as Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables, and Reitman believes he’ll continue more along those lines. “He’s joked around about coming back to acting, but I think really he would like to do something serious,” he said. That would seem more reasonable as Arnold isn’t exactly the man he used to be before he went into office. We’ve already heard a wild rumor that he could show up in Terminator 5 (here) if that film goes anywhere, and there’s always returning for The Expendables 2 that’s scheduled to begin filming this Spring.
