Who will distribute Bond 23?
A release date has been set (here) for Bond 23 with Sam Mendes directing, but the film is still missing one important thing, a distributor. The Hollywood Reporter is getting word that Paramount Pictures is the lead contender to distribute the film, and have gotten the first crack at the rights because of an close relationship the heads of MGM and Paramount. However, Sony Pictures, who distributed the previous two films, is on good terms with the Broccoli family, who own the rights.
Pre-production on the film was recently delayed (here) because of this issue, but it will likely be resolved soon enough. The Broccoli family is also on good terms with Paramount and a deal is very likely to be made.
