Update on Friday the 13th sequel

While things aren’t looking soo good for Freddy Krueger as of late (here), Jason seems to be in the same situation. We’ve heard that Platinum Dunes wasn’t doing a sequel (here), but it was then reported that Warner Bros. is moving forward on a follow-up (here). Now, Platinum Dunces producer told Shock Til You Drop that’s all BS, and that a sequel is ready to, but the studio isn’t. “[Mark] Shannon and [Damian] Swift wrote a great script. We are ready to go, when new line is ready. But as of yet, they are not ready,” he said.

So, it looks as though Jason is in almost the same position as Freddy at this point, but has a better chance at getting a sequel. However, given the backlash from many fans, it’s unknown if the studio would ever make a sequel happen.
