Twilight writer takes over Highlander remake
Yes, you read that right. Now that Melissa Rosenberg is done writing the Twilight series, she’s moved on to another franchise, Highlander. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rosenberg is currently in negotiations to work on the remake. This is obviously an odd choice for fans of the original film, but Rosenberg has experience in dealing with immortal characters, and will be touching up the script first written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), then Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Sellek Wibberley. Justin Lin (Fast Five) is attached to direct the film.
The originally film starred Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert, and is considered a cult-classic. It’ll be difficult for this remake to live up to that popularity.
