Tron: Legacy’s Joseph Kosinski’s next gets a new title

Joseph Kosinski, the director who brought the world of Tron back in Tron: Legacy was going to direct a film from The Departed‘s screenwriter William Monahan called Oblivion, but according to the Heat Vision, the film will get a new draft of the script and a new title: Horizons.

The plot, which was based on Radical Publishing’s upcoming graphic novel, is “set in a future Earth, where civilization lives above the clouds and scavengers collect ancient artifacts from the polluted surface below. When one young scavenger finds a crashed spacecraft planet-side, it lead him on a journey filled with romance and adventure.” However, the story now seems to be about “a soldier assigned to patrol a desolate planet who meets a mysterious traveler.”

No word on how much of Monahan’s original screenplay will be kept and no release date.
