Trailer for the DIY superhero comedy, Superseeds
In a press release sent to us, the DIY, Kickstarter funded superhero comedy called Superseeds has a new trailer. The film raised $17.5k via Kickstarter for first-time film-maker Kholi Hicks. The producer described the film to us as Superbad, but if they had superpowers.
Set in an urban, modern-day, economic-distraught Los Angeles, Superseeds follows best friends and roommates Avery and Pete in a race to curtail disaster in their city. Two months tardy on rent and with a third closing in swiftly, the duo–accompanied by their hair brained friend “Mouse”—steal a supply of marijuana from Pete’s ex- employer to sell and profit, in hopes of clearing their rental debt. In the process, they unknowingly take the fruits of a Mad Scientist’s labor.
Now, having sold the discovery-of-the-century, prior to uncovering the truth themselves, they must locate their friends and recover the missing merchandise before its bi-polar creator comes gunning for them–literally.

Worked on the crew. Don’t be fooled. Great visual effects…crap story.
That logo bloooooooooooooows. DOnt pretend to be a Hollywood style movie if you dont have the graphic design chops to pull it off. Damn what a painful logo.
Some people need to quit drinking the haterade.
Whoever came up with this GODAWFUL movie is an idiot.
The title doesn’t even make sense. Superseeds? They steel WEED not seeds. They smoke WEED in the film. The whole film takes place in a few days. They don’t spend several months growing plants from some mad scientist genetically altered seeds.
And why does everyone have a different power? That implies it has something to do with the genetic code of the person. So that means humans are actually mutants and the weed is only a trigger for latent, individualized super powers?
And somehow one of these people’s superpowers is the ability to manifest real world objects? Really? She can assemble matter into mechanical objects from her MIND? THats STUPID.
This is the dumbest of dumb comic book dreck. It has no internal logic which is what is necessary to make a story like this work. This is dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.
Were you watching the same trailer? They take pills. However your point is clear. The title doesnt work.
But you need to watch more closely. They never smoked the dope. They just consumed glowing pills…that are in a medical marijuana facility…hidden in a box with ordinary weed…in a lock box you can get at Target for $9.95 (I have the same lock box.)
And it is made of plastic and doesn’t lock. But the scientist dude who came up with the weed-based-super-pills put it in a lame lock box rather than a proper safe.
Hmmmm….okay you have a point.
But the chick is hot!
