Trailer and one-sheet for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
It has been quite the day for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, and the goods keep on coming! The official trailer and one-sheet have just been released. The one-sheet is over there to your left and the embedded trailer is below (thanks to /Film). ENJOY!
An origin story in the true sense of the word, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is set in present day San Francisco. The film is a reality-based cautionary tale — a science fiction/science-fact blend where mankind’s hubris leads to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. Oscar(R)-winning visual effects house WETA Digital – employing certain of the groundbreaking technologies developed for “Avatar” – will render, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors.

Looks light years better than Tim Burton’s pisspoor remake.
The CG apes look wayy to fake. They should have used practical effects.
Yeah…would have rather seen Rick Baker’s amazing FX work. Still interested.

That and Tim Roth were the best things about Burton’s remake.
On one hand it looks pretty good. If any redeeming quality came of Burton’s re-imagining, was the FX work by Baker. It still looks a little too fake. We will see if they fix it by opening day.
But on the other hand, will they go far with the concept that was already explored in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes?
Either way, this looks close to the book…well, based on a few shots.
