Tom Cruise confirmed for At The Mountains of Madness

I09 was able to speak with Producer Don Murphy (Transformers) about the status of Guillermo’s Del Toro’s adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s At The Mountains of Madness, and was able to confirm that Tom Cruise will star in the lead role. Not only that, but Murphy also confirmed that Del Toro will begin filming this June for a likely release next year or early 2013. The Producer also mentioned that Del Toro’s script will stay “very close” to Lovecraft’s novel about “a group of explorers who discover a group of aliens known as the Elder Things that are buried under the snow and ice. When they are awakened, however, all hell breaks loose” (via Cinema Blend).
