The status of Wanted 2, probably Never

Jim Lemley who’s producing Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter for director Timur Bekmambetov, was at the University of Idaho on Monday, to students in the College of Business as part of the 2011 Spring Executive Speaker Series and an avid reader of /Film wrote in with what Lemley spoke about (this was confirmed by the site).

Lemley mostly confirmed a lot of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter speculation, but an attendee asked about Wanted 2, which he also produced. Despite what IMDb has listed, Lemley says a Wanted 2 isn’t happening anytime soon if at all.

It felt like a sure thing a few years back, but Bekmambetov has been attached to a slew of projects, James McAvoy is now Professor X and in a potential new franchise. Boo. Thoughts?

  1. I loved WANTED, but a sequel isn’t necessary. It’s great as a stand alone movie.
