The Punisher headed to TV
Thrice Hollywood has tried to adapt The Punisher, and neither of the films have been able to develop a franchise. But with Marvel now in charge of The Punisher once again, they’ll be bringing the vigilante to the small-screen. Variety is reporting that Marvel will be developing a live-action TV series of The Punisher with Twentieth Century Fox. Nothing is known about the show other it will be “an hour-long procedural with a Marvel signature and a new take on one of comic book giant’s iconic characters, Frank Castle, a rising star detective with the NYC Police Department who moonlights as the vigilante Punisher seeking justice for those the system has failed.”
Sounds good, but will we see the violent Punisher fans know and love? The show will likely be toned down because of character’s violent nature, and that may upset many fans. However, perhaps it will be better to focus more on the story than action.
