The Darkness coming to theaters soon?
A live-action adaptation of Top Cow’s The Darkness might be developed soon, according to 24 Frames.
The property has had many false starts, despite the success of darker movies like The Crow, it just never got off the ground. Ah, the Nolan effect: Mandeville Films now feels with the uber-success of Nolan’s Batman films that a film about The Darkness is right.
What’s this comic about? “It follows Jackie Estacado, a Mafia hit man who has been imbued with the ancient power of “The Darkness.” The mysterious power allows him to call upon demons from another realm to do his bidding, but have a set of drawbacks all their own. Haunted by what he has become, Estecado has a strict moral compass that he follows while trying to do what he feels is right.”
Sadly, that’s all that is known. Here’s hoping the premise can be rightfully done.
