The Dark Knight Rises will have more IMAX footage

One of the selling points for The Dark Knight was that Nolan shot a few scenes with an IMAX camera. Fans were hoping that Nolan would film The Dark Knight Rises entirely in IMAX, but sadly, he didn’t. But fans can rejoice as several lucky souls (including /Film) were treated to a screening of the prologue for Nolan’s final Batman film, which will be in IMAX. There Nolan revealed the film will nearly an hours worth of IMAX footage. However, even Nolan doesn’t know how much will be in the format because he has yet to begin editing the film.

The bad news with this is that we’ll be getting yet another Blu-ray release with the aspect ratio constantly changing throughout the film. That was my biggest complaint when watching The Dark Knight on Blu-ray. It just shows that it’s only worth getting excited about IMAX when you can watch it on a suitable screen.

Oh, and did I mention the trailer will be online TODAY?!
