Talia Al Ghul finally confirmed for TDKR?
Talia Al Ghul has been rumored for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises ever since Inception was released, and Marion Cotillard has been the one who was rumored for the role. That rumor has been squashed several times by the Actress, but it was given even more fuel when Cotillard was officially confirmed to appear in the film, but as a character named “Miranda Tate”. However, fans have called-out Nolan on the role being just ruse, and there is more to the character.
Several set photos have shown Cotillard’s character to obviously be in league with Bane (Tom Hardy), and it’s been confirmed the League of Shadows will be returning in this film. Well, the Mother of young actress Leilah De Meza has posted in an English Newspaper (via IO9) that her daughter was being considered for the role of a young Talia Al Ghul, but turned down the part. The Dark Knight Rises has been surrounded with rumors ever since The Dark Knight was released back in 2008, but this may actually be true. We’ve already heard that Josh Pence will be starring in the film as a young Ras Al Ghul (probably a flashback scene), and it’s very likely we’ll see a young Talia. Connect that with what the set photos of Cotillard, it’s very easy to come to a conclusion.
The Dark Knight Rises is said to bring Nolan’s trilogy in full-circle with Batman Begins, hence the inclusion of the League of Shadows. However, considering the film’s reputation with rumors, it’s best to look at this as a rumor for right now.
