Syfy’s Swamp Shark a graphic PSA?
Here, we all thought the Syfy Channel’s movie-of-the-week are made for our silly entertainment or lack thereof, but director of Swamp Shark, airing Saturday night, June 25th, warns that his film has far more intentions that camp value.
“[This] isn’t just a shark movie,” he tells Fango. “It’s a graphic safety PSA for irresponsible youths who think it’s a good idea to go swimming in the swamp this summer. It’s a little-known fact that hundreds of aggressive sharks scour the bayous of Louisiana for fresh meat. If there is anything you learn from watching this movie, let it be this: Don’t drink if you’re underage. Do not have sex. And last but not least, don’t be a douchebag, or you’re destined to be shark bait.”
Shit, I knew there was something wrong in those swamp waters of Louisiana. Jaws with a message?
Hey, you gotta appreciate his enthusiasm for a project most would just accept the paycheck and go home. Heck, now I’m kind of rooting that this is a damn fun piece of popcorn entertainment…
