Support Lou Ferrigno in the Liberator

Lou Ferrigno is gearing up to return to the superhero genre, a genre he’ll always be remembered for as The Hulk in the ABC TV series from the 1980s. The new project is Liberator, a short about a disgraced, washed-up, ex superhero whose secret black ops past catches up with him — just as he’s trying to put his life back together.

The film also co-stars Don “The Dragon” Wilson (Bloodfist), Michael Dorn (Worf, Star Trek: The Next Generation), and Peta Wilson (LXG). The film is in need of $18, ooo to produce it and fans can help via its Kickstarter page. There’s tons of cool incentives to help also.

Here’s a little more about the project, which sounds neat:

The truly unique thing about Liberator is that, unlike other superhero flicks out there, it’s based very much in the politics of now. This is a real person in the real world. He’s a superhero, yes, but he’s also a man and a father, dealing with the things that affect us all as humans. It’s this personal, emotional element that really sets this character, and this project, apart.

Our goal is to use this short to launch a new franchise, in whatever form that takes — TV series, feature, web series, you name it. Since every one of our cast has starred in hit TV shows and movies, we feel pretty psyched, and we hope you are, too! As comics and sci-fi fans, we assembled the cast that WE would want to see in a movie. Lou Ferrigno back in action as a superhero one more time? Heck yeah!

We used every last dime we raised to make the movie — in the can, sweet! But we have zero in the till for post (uh-oh.) Now we need $18K to finish this film at the high level of professionalism it demands and to add the special effects. We have a great team of industry pros working on this thing at pennies on the dollar because they love this project and want to see it happen. We hope you feel the same way!”

Besides the Kickstarter page, find the film on Facebook and Twitter.
