Stephen Summers NOT directing G.I. Joe 2 after all
Those who didn’t enjoy Stephen Summer’s G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra have reason to look forward to the sequel. The Los Angeles Times reports that despite previous reports of Summers attached direct the sequel (here), it seems he will NOT be returning to sit in the directors chair. Paramount has declined to comment on the news, but the reason could be after reports of behind-the-scenes trouble on the set of the first film. No word on who’s being approached to direct, but a replacement needs to be found if the studio still intends to get it released in 2012 (here).

I didn’t like it the first time, but it’s grown on me after watching it a few more times. I’m really anxious to see what happens in the sequel.
This guy was once a good director, what the hell happened?
DEEP RISING is the only film I enjoyed from SOMMERS.

I’ve enjoyed all of his movie tbh. Like Bay, his films are just mindless fun. Although, THE MUMMY is the only one that was really impressive.
