Stephen King’s The Stand getting a Harry Potter treatment
With Harry Potter over, as usual with studios in need of a new franchise, Warner Bros. is in need of a new franchise. Even though I don’t see the correlation here, Warner Bros. is eying Stephen King’s mammoth supernatural apocalyptic fable in The Stand, which has been a TV movie before, into a franchise. How?
First, they’re trying to convince David Yates, who’s done some Potter for the studio, then they want him to direct The Stand while splitting the tome into three movies. Naturally. No other details are known, as Yates has a few weeks to decide on this option.
Thoughts?
