Statham on Crank 3
With Crank directors Neveldine/Taylor finishing up on Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance, and with that fiery ending to Crank 2: High Voltage, fans have been wondering when and if we will get a Crank 3. Collider, seeking that opportunity to Jason Statham while doing press for The Mechanic, got this answer:
It’s a shame the last one didn’t do that well. I think the first one had a little bit more success and usually if you do a sequel, it usually has to in some ways take a little bit more money than the first one.
Yeah, it was absolutely nuts [on the style of the sequel], which reflects exactly who those two are. I don’t know, whether we’ll do another one? Who knows? I just know we had a great…working with those two guys is not like working with anybody else. I mean, they are absolutely mad as hatters. And Neveldine, moved to the country not so long ago, and has been living a different kind of life. I don’t know how plugged in he is to doing a third one.
He just echoes the “I hope so” attitude of fellow co-star Amy Smart once said (here). So what have we learned? Nothing; and in that nothing, a Crank 3 is as real as a Blade 4.
Own both of these on BR, tried watching the 1st one a while back and dozed off.
CRANK is alright, but CRANK: HIGH VOLTGE is a cult classic in my book.
