Star Trek 2 update

The sequel to J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot is looking to be one of the most anticipated films of next year, but unlike other big blockbusters slated for a 2012 release, this film has yet to get a script.

Screenwriter Roberto Orci mentions to Trek Movie that a 70-page outline exists, and has “just been waiting for J.J. to be free to really decide if he likes the story and hear his suggestions before we finish the script”. Of course, the script is still incomplete at the moment, but could Orci says “we’ll have it in no time” once Abrams gives some insight. He also mentions the outline is “detailed enough (70+ pages!) to do some prep.”

Of course, there’s no word on what the outline holds for Trekkies, but hopefully we can look forward to just another fun film. Filming is rumored for a September start date for its June 2012 scheduled release.
