Splendent Media giving us 26 remakes from better Akira Kurosawa films

Um, yeah. Some company called Splendent Media has acquire the remake rights for 26 of Akira Kurosawa films, along with 19 unfilmed screenplays by the master. Possible titles eyed for remakes are: Yojimbo, Ran, Kagemusha, Dreams, and Rashomon.

I guess it’s not the end of the world, considering Kurosawa “remade” a few Shakespeare plays into awesome samuaria tales, and Kurosawa has been remade loosely before in Star Wars (from his The Hidden Fortress) and The Magificent Seven (Seven Samuari), but eh. Stupid.
