Short Circuit remake gets a director

That loveable Johnny 5 will be returning to the big screen, but in a remake of Short Circuit. The film has been in development since 2009, and Deadline is now reporting that Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks) has been assigned to direct the remake. Steve Carr (Paul Blart: Mall Cop) and Dan Milano wrote the script, but no details are known about the plot just yet.
