SDCC ’11: Hack/Slash actress to be announced
A feature film on Hack/Slash has been in the making for sometime, but nothing has been heard about the film in a good while. Matt Pizzolo was announced as director of the film after last year’s Comic-con, and would be creating a new visual style for the film that would mix comic book sequential art with 3D CGI and rotoscoped animation of live-action. A press-release was issued (via Bloody-Disgusting) that mentioned the Actress who will play the lead character, Cassie Hack, will be announced at this year’s Comic-con at the Halo-8 panel by creator Tim Seeley. This event is scheduled to take place that Saturday at 7 pm.
Unfortunately, there’s no idea of who this actress is. No announcements regarding auditions have been revealed, and the only hint is the actress is already scheduled to appear at the convention for another genre series. That leaves True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, or maybe someone from Locke & Key. Megan Fox and Kate Dennings have expressed interest in portraying the character, but it’s safe to assume neither of them got the role, or have even auditioned. Whoever this person is, Director Pizzolo mentions the actress will “literally be taking on Cassie’s skin” with the style they’ll be using.
