Saw may return sometime in the Future
While the most recent installment in the Saw franchise was labeled as “The Final Chapter”, everyone knows nothing truly ends in Hollywood until it ceases to make money. Saw 3D did moderately well at the box-0ffice earning $45,710,178 on a $20 million dollar budget even with the increased price for 3D tickets. But in an interview with Movieweb, franchise creator Leigh Whannell has expressed interest in returning to the series. “I would definitely be open to one day doing something else with the Saw films. Knowing James Wan and I, and how we work, I think it would have to be something totally fresh and new,” he said.
However, Whannell does mention that he wants to get his upcoming film Insidious out of the way, and then tackle an upcoming children’s film before returning to the franchise. That doesn’t mean another film is in development, but Whannell would definitely be interested in returning if the studio wishes. “However many years time it takes, and the producers want to revisit it, we would definitely chat with them,” he said. Although, since the studio “promised” the last film was truly the last, they could end up rebooting the series. The idea that seems to be popular with many of Hollywood’s franchises.

SAW VI was really amazing. It had that wow factor at the end with it’s awesome twist.
SAW 3D was a great ending, although I would have loved to have seen more and better 3D.
Haven’t seen VI or this last one.
Didn’t think much of Saw IV.
But will admit that Saw V has one of the best endings of the sequels I’ve seen.
