RZA’s kung fu film starts shooting
A brief update on RZA’s The Man with the Iron Fists, since it has been a long while that anything broke from the film (here). Eli Roth recently tweeted before Christmas saying he landed in China (where the film is shooting) and that “the Chinese film crew are so fast and efficient I feel like I’m watching an episode of Benny Hill.” Tarantino recently stopped by the set, since he’s helping to produce.
The film is, well, we know little on it except this plot line: “a blacksmith [also played by The RZA] who forges weapons for the inhabitants of a village in feudal China. They are forced to defend themselves, and before you know it, everybody is kung fu fighting”, as RZA once stated. Knowing RZA’s love for the Shaw Brothers and kung fu, as evident in his music for the Wu Tang Clan and his scores for Kill Bill and Afro Samurai, should help. But curious minds what to know more.
