Ryan Reynolds still wants to make Deadpool

Nothing has been heard about Twentieth Century Fox’s Deadpool spin-off film since new broke that unknown director Adam Berg was in talks for the job (here). The real question surrounding the project is the involvement of Ryan Reynolds who portrayed the character in Gavin Hood’s X-men Origins: Wolverine. In an interview with Empire Magazine (via Comic Book Movies), Reynolds mentions that he’s still plans to star in the film. “That’s still in the works. I’m not sure how logistically it works in terms of scheduling, but yeah I want it to happen,” he said when asked about the status of Deadpool.

That doesn’t give much hope towards the actual film as Reynold’s schedule seems to get tighter and tighter. He’s already set to star in R.I.P.D. (Rest In Peace Department, an adaptation of the Dark Horse comic, and Green Lantern 2 has already been green-lit at WB. It beginning to look as though Reynolds may have to back out of this film, or drop out of another to make this film happen.

Until then, Reynolds will be starring in Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern opening on June 17th.
