Russell Brand to irritate Depp in Pirates 5?
We all know a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean is coming, perhaps in 2013, since Depp is knee deep in other projects, but that hasn’t stopped Disney in gearing up for the film, especially since On Stranger Tides made a cool billion dollars worldwide.
ShowbizSpy is reporting that Capt. Jack Sparrow might be getting Russell Brand (Get Him to the Greek) as a side-kick in the fifth film. Says the source, “The idea is to give Jack a new sidekick — someone who will bring out a new side to the character. This will also be a massive opportunity for Russell and establish him among the Hollywood A-list.Johnny is a big fan of Russell’s and ultimately he has a big say in who he works with.”
Most of this is tantalizing, especially for fans of the series, but it is a rumor. Thoughts?
