Rumor: Ms. Marvel in The Avengers

While Cobie Smulers is getting closer and closer to be joining that cast of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers (here), rumor is now going around that another female character will be featured in the film. A Fan-site for Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) is getting word from a “protected source” from Marvel the actress is signed on to star in the film. In the comics, Ms. Marvel was originally Carol Danvers, but became empowered by the fusion of Kree and human genes. She then given the powers of super-human strength, speed, flight, and other abilities.

This should be taken strictly as a rumor for right now. The aliens known as The Kree have already been rumored to appear in the film, but that was quickly dismissed (here). So, it’s unlikely this character will be joining the cast either.
