Rumor: Lex Luthor will have a Hangover in Man of Steel?
With all the casting we’ve heard for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, we haven’t heard anything about Superman’s arch nemesis Lex Luthor, and that has led man to believe the character won’t appear in the film. Well, Cosmis Book News recieved word that Bradley Cooper would be appearing as Lex Luthor in a cameo role during the film. This is definitely a rumor for right now, and it would seem as though we would have heard something about casting for the role if Snyder were to include him in the movie. This comes off the recent news that Paradise Lost would be delayed due to budget reasons, and that would leave Cooper open for business. And with both films in production at WB/Legendary Pictures, it wouldn’t be impossible for this to happen.
However, Snyder has gone on record that Man of Steel will be different from the previous films. But anyone that’s seen the set photos can tell you its looking to be a mash up of Superman 2 and Smallville. Given the importance of Luthor within the Superman mythology, it would seem impossible to have a film without him appearing in some fashion. A cameo would be the best way to do this, given this information is true.

I agree wholeheartedly. I would LOVE to see Lex appear as a cameo in the 1st film (because you KNOW there’s gonna be sequels), have a small supporting role in the 2nd film, then break out as the main villain in the 3rd. And I’m sure I’m in the minority about this, but I think Bradley Cooper can pull it off. I think he’s a HIGHLY UNDERRATED actor in Hollywood and this might be the type of project to let him show off his acting chops. I would also like to see Lex with hair in the 1st & 2nd films, with him losing it in towards the end of the 2nd, going bat shit crazy, and turning into the evil genius mastermind in the 3rd. Hear that, Warner Bros. I just gave you a blueprint for Lex free of charge.
