Prometheus begins production

Production on Ridley Scott’s mysterious Prometheus has began production today, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will be shooting at the Pinewood Studios in Toronto, Canada for about three weeks. Nothing really is known about the film other than it started out as prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic Alien, but is now a “more original” film (here). However, a couple of rumor (here and here) have pointed the film will have some connection ot the Alien franchise. Prequel or not, many are probably happy to see Ridley Scott return the Sci Fi.

The film stars Noomi Rapace (Sherlock Holmes 2, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo), Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Bastards, X-men: First Class), Charlize Theron, Scooter McNairy (Monsters), Idris Elba (Thor, Losers), Sean Harris (Harry Brown) and Kate Dickie.

Prometheus is scheduled to be released on June 18, 2012.
