Preacher has a new director possibly

After Sam Mendes ditched a Preacher adaptation a good while ago in favor for Bond 23, there’s been nothing about the Garth Ennis’ comic. /Film is now reporting that DJ Caruso is tapped to direct the film, from DC Comics’ Vertigo line.

“One of my well placed Hollywood spys informs me that Disturbia/Eagle Eye helmer DJ Caruso is in talks to direct a big screen adaptation of Preacher. This is said to be all dependent on the box office of his latest film, I Am Number Four. I have not been able to double source this rumor, but I thought I’d throw it out there to get your thoughts?”

Of course, that’s far from official, but what if? With his big budgeted I am Number Four opening soon, would you like him for this film?
