Post-apocalyptic Zorro film in the works
The character of Zorro has been portrayed many different times in comics, movies, and TV series in the past 90 years, but not like this. Sources have told 24 Frames that Twentieth Century Fox is developing a futuristic/post-apocalyptic reboot of the Zorro franchise titled Zorro Reborn, with Rpin Suwannath set to direct. The script written by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy will portray the character as “less a caped crusader for justice than a one-man vigilante force bent on revenge, in a western story that has echoes of both Sergio Leone and “No Country for Old Men”".
Zorro is mostly known as being set in the 19th century, but it may be interesting to see what a post-apocalyptic interpretation would be like. Anotonio Banderas portrayed the character in The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro, but this film is looking to cast a younger actor. But no word on who the studio has in mind just yet.
