Piranha 3DD to be re-written

While Alex Aja’s Piranha 3D was just a fun time at the theaters, the film did have a very weak story, among other problems in the film. We heard a couple of days ago Piranha 3DD was delayed a couple of months (here), but no reason was given. Moviehole is now hearing that Joel Soisson (Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, The Prophecy) has been brought in to re-write the film’s script and produce the film. Soisson has experience in the horror genre, and knows how to work a 3D film after working on My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry 3D. That will help improve this film’s 3D quality since we’ve already heard the film will be shot in 3D this time (here).

There’s also been a few rumors that Tara Reid (American Pie) and Todd Bridges are attached to the film, but casting has yet to begin. However, there is word that Ving Rhames will return (here).

Piranha 3DD is set to open on November 23rd.
