PG-13 version of The King’s Speech becomes an April Fool’s joke
While Tom Hooper’s The King’s Speech will be coming to Blu-ray/DVD in a couple of weeks (here), Deadline is hearing The Weinstein Company is set to release the film in theaters on April 1st with a PG-13 rating. Fans have already been upset with this news, but the studio is wanting to lower the rating for the DVD so it can be shown to younger audiences. However, there won’t be a big change to the film. This version will be replacing the “f**k” with “s**t”. Director Tom Hooper is involved in the dubbing process, and notes the film’s length won’t be altered.
