Paradise Lost put on hold

Just when you thought development on Alex Proyas’ Paradise Lost was going smoothly, Deadline reveals that production has been postponed. The film was on track to begin shooting next, but Legendary Pictures has now delayed that so they can rework the script. Apparently, the studio is fearing the budget is getting to expensive, and want to bring it down about 10-15%.  This isn’t anything new, and we’ve seen this happen with Moneyball and American Gangster, but Deadline is hearing this is all due to Disney delaying The Lone Ranger for budget issues.

Paradise Lost is supposed to be an 3D action epic that will obviously require alot of green screen work, and the budget to perform all of that is getting out of hand. No alternate start date has been announced, but Legendary is shooting for a late-Spring, early-Summer date. No word if this will delay the film’s release date.
