Osment to see Frankenstein
Where in the world was Haley Joel Osment? After some stunning work as a child actor in The Sixth Sense and A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, the child actor seemingly disappeared from Hollywood.
Well, Variety is reporting that he’ll be back in Wake the Dead, a modern twist to the Frankenstein story – as if there hasn’t been enough already – for director Jay Russell from The Water Horse, which is based on the Steve Niles’ comic. The gist of the story is Osment will play Victor Franklin, a college student who experiments with raising the dead.
Says Niles of the adaptation: “We want to recapture the quality of horror like they made them in the ’70s, horror where you care about the characters and story. With Wake the Dead, Jay Russell, Slash and I hope to make a horror movie that sticks with you long after you’ve seen it.”
It’s one of the first productions from Guns-’n-Roses guitarist Slash and his Slasher Films. Any chance this catches your eye over the 16 (I’m joking, but there’s a lot) other upcoming Frankenstein films?
