Of course, The Invisible Man getting a remake
Surprised? I don’t see why you should be as nearly every classic film in getting a remake nowadays in Hollywood, and The LA Times report The Invisible Man will be the next in line. The character was first thought of by H.G. Wells in 1897, but David Goyer is working on a new take for the character that will be in line with the recent Sherlock Holmes films. “It’s a period film but it’s period like Downey’s ’Sherlock Holmes. It’s period but it’s a reinvention of the character in the sort of way that Stephen Sommers exploded ‘The Mummy’ into a much bigger kind of mythology. That’s kind of what we’ve done with ‘The Invisible Man,” he said.
The project has been in the works, but development has been moving slowly. However, Goyer notes that things has sped up after some pre-vis tests, and is now going through the casting process.
