Not even Clive Barker’s butt-hole likes Hellraiser: Revelations

Ouch.

So, there’s been all sorts of confusion and drama on the latest DTV sequel, Hellraiser: Revelations, coming to VOD on September 1st, then on DVD October 18th. First, fans were confused as if this was going to be the rumored remake or a direct sequel to the long-running series. Then, Doug Bradley confirmed, for the first time that he will not reprise the character of Pinhead, which immediately outraged fans.

From here, lots of hush-hush from the filming, followed by a sneaky limited theatrical run, which lasted like two weeks in L.A., and now, probably the most hilarious thing of all, is that Clive Barker took to Twitter to announce his final thoughts on the 9th film:

Hello,my friends. I want to put on record that the flick out there using the word Hellraiser IS NO F*CKIN’ CHILD OF MINE!” he screams via Twitter. “I have NOTHING to do with the f*ckin’ thing. If they claim it’s from the mind of Clive Barker, it’s a lie. It’s not even from my butt-hole.

It’s cool he’s so against this film, and maybe he’s siding with fans so the backlash on the upcoming 3D remake won’t be as harsh, but what about the other sequels that were DTV after the lackluster box office performance of Hellraiser: Bloodline?

Two friends in Mexico discover the Lament Configuration and unleash Pinhead, but one decides to try to survive by swapping himself with someone else. Once they go missing, family members go in search of them but find Pinhead instead. Directed by Victor Garcia (Mirrors 2), the film stars Steven Brand, Daniel Buran, Jolene Anderson, Nick Eversman, Stephen Smith Collins, and Jay Gillespie.
