Noah’s Ark to be Aronofsky’s “big event film”
It was announced recently (here) that Aronofsky was looking to make his take of Noah’s Ark after negotiations to make The Wolverine fell apart. Nothing is really known about his idea for the film, but he did drop a bit of information about the film to IFC News at the Provincetown International Film. “I want to make a big event film, and I think it can be that,” Aronofsky said. All directors have tried to get a “big event film” off the ground, and maybe it’s time Darren Aronofsky showed us what he can do with that.
One concern many are having with this idea is the film would be overly religious to some. But Aronofsky believes otherwise. “I don’t think it’s a very religious story. I think it’s a great fable that’s part of so many different religions and spiritual practices. I just think it’s a great story that’s never been on film,” he said. Sounds like it could be interesting. Aronofsky recently went above and beyond with his previous film Black Swan, and it would be great to see what he can do with this story. Also, Aronofsky wouldn’t comment on the recent rumors that Christian Bale was circling the film (here). Thoughts?
